Tips For Relieving Stress

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
Everyone knows how annoying and frustrating it can be to be dealing with stress, but one thing that is also important to realize about stress is the fact that it can lower your immune system - which, of course, makes you more susceptible to illness - and often tends to create a decline in overall quality of life for those who are dealing with it; for this reason, it is important to know how to relieve stress, and while "the right approach" will vary from person too person, here are a few things that anyone can keep in mind.

One of the best ways to get rid of the stress that has started plaguing you is to simply find a quality way to be active, as this can release endorphins into your body that will help to relax you and improve your overall state of being; when you are dealing with stress, stay active in some simple, calming way such as yoga or walking, and you will soon find that the stress is disappearing.

In addition to being active, another great way to help your body get rid of stress is by being still; if you have been dealing with stress, try simply sitting still with nothing but peace and quiet, and you will likely find that the stress you have been dealing with it is beginning to go away.

And of course, one thing a lot of people find is that there are external contributors they can use in order to help relieve stress, such as hot water (in the form of a hot tub, a bath, or a shower) or music; take the time to find the external contributors that work for you, and be ready to indulge in these should stress attack!

Of course, in order to purposely get rid of stress in your life, you will need to be able to identify and acknowledge it when it arrives - but as long as you are able to do that, you will be able to indulge in the stress reduction technique that works best for you, and will be able to get rid of stress and enjoy life a whole lot more as a result!

Swim To Lead A Healthy Life

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
There are a lot of ways to stay healthy, and quite frankly, there are a lot of odd ways to stay healthy these days. But one way that has stood the test of time (and which you will not feel silly doing) is swimming. Swimming is not only great for your body in a whole bunch of ways, but it is also just a fun way to exercise.

While the most optimal manner of swimming includes a scenario where you own your own pool, you are not excluded from swimming if you are without a pool of your own. There are a lot of places where you can swim, such as a gym or the YMCA. You can even swim year-round in these pools, because they are indoors. You can also consider visiting a community pool if there are no indoor pools near you. If you do not mind the crowds of such pools, they are definitely worth the effort to visit; some such pools require memberships, and others are absolutely free. Finally, you can find great swimming (and clear, open spaces for swimming!) in the ocean or in a nearby lake. Not only will it feel nice to be out in the fresh air like this, but it will also be nice to swim in water that is not laden with chlorine.

When you start swimming, you will find that the health benefits are various. One of the best things about swimming is that it is a true full-body workout. Swimming also keeps you from putting a bunch of strain on your joints and muscles, as it is a low-impact workout. At the same time, you will also be stretching your muscles and increasing your mobility.

Finally, as far as aerobic workouts go, swimming is one of the best. This means that you will be keeping your heart and your circulatory system ins great shape, which will go a long way in keeping you free from disease and will even combat aging.

There is certainly no miracle workout that keeps you thin and healthy and cures a multitude of illnesses. But swimming is definitely the one workout that comes closest to this! Start thinking about how you can make swimming a part of your regular routine.

A Comparison Of Caffeine Content

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
If you have ever found yourself surprised by the effects of the coffee you are drinking - or by the lack of effects - you might be surprised to learn the caffeine content of your drinks of choice.

Starbucks is one of the favorite coffee destinations of most Americans. Of all the specialty drinks offerred at Starbucks, few are as popular as the Frappuccino. You will espcially see people drinking this drink - and might even be especially tempted by this drink yourself - during the hot summer months, but did you know that the Frappuccino has no caffeine in it? The Frappuccino is actually powder-based, and contains only coffee flavoring and no real coffee. If you are wanting something to wake you up during the summer instead of just a cold drink, think twice before purchasing a Frappuccino.

One of the biggest myths regarding caffeine content comes from espresso. You might even find a barista making a comment along the lines of, "You must really need to stay awake" if you ever order and espresso-based drink and ask for an extra shot to be added. Actually, while espresso contains more caffeine per ounce than regular coffee, most espresso drinks only contain a couple ounces of espresso. For instance, if you order a venti latte at a Starbucks, you are getting three shots of espresso. Considering that an ounce of espresso contains between 35 and 50 milligrams of caffeine, this brings your grand caffeine total to somewhere between 105 and 150 milligrams of caffeine.

A single cup of coffee, on the other hand, typically contains between 115 and 150 milligrams of caffeine. If you order a venti coffee at Starbucks - which is 20 ounces, or two and a half cups, of coffee - you are getting over 300 milligrams of caffeine. This means you are getting more than twice as much caffeine from a plain coffee as from a venti espresso drink.

You might actually went to consider espresso drinks if you are especially sensitive to caffeine. As long as you know how many shots are in these drinks, you will be able to limit your caffeine intake. And if you have been tired and wondering why these coffee drinks do nothing, maybe you are getting a lot less caffeine than you realized!

Exploring Easy Ways To Keep Yourself In Shape

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
A lot of people face the problem that they are far too busy to go the the gym on a regular basis, and they translate this fact into the idea that they are far too busy to keep themselves in the shape they want to stay in; while many people are busy, however, the truth is that everyone has enough time to stay in good shape, as there are a number of very simple things you can do that - when combined with healthy eating habits - will keep you looking fit and trim.

Walk: Walking might not seem like much of a workout when you are doing it, but walking truly is one of the best workouts you can engage in; although walking can be a bit time-consuming, you will find - when you start looking for opportunities to walk - that you actually have plenty, including during your lunch break, in the evening, or even just at work, taking the stairs instead of the elevator!

Pushups: Because pushups are such a basic "workout," many adults dismiss them as something that will not be much help to them, but actually, pushups are one of the best upper-body workouts you can engage in; throughout the day, get in the habit of dropping to the floor for a quick set up pushups, as this will help you look the way you want to look, and will get your blood flowing - which will make work that much easier!

Flexing: And even though this might seem like a joke, one of the best ways to work out is actually by simply flexing; when you lift weights, you are essentially forcing your muscles to tighten up, which is the same thing you will accomplish by flexing - and even though you will not increase strength quite as quickly this way as you would from lifting weights, you will be surprised by just how effective this can be!

Make an effort to add these "workouts" to your everyday life, and soon you will find that you are beginning to look a whole lot more like what you want to look like!

Exploring Nighttime Rituals To Help You Sleep

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
You know how frustrating it can be to have trouble sleeping if you have ever dealt with this yourself; after all, while it might be nice for a little while (it sure does give you a lot more time to work with!), your body will simply continue to get more and more tired, and this starts to become worse and worse if you are unable to sleep. While there are plenty of different reasons why people might have a hard time sleeping, and while the solutions might be different for many different people, one common cause of having a hard time sleeping is simply being too “wound up,” and you can solve this problem by finding a ritual that helps you relax before you go to bed.

While some people think of caffeine when they think of tea, there are many non-caffeinated teas as well; drinking something hot and tasty is often a great way to relax and unwind, so find a flavor of tea that you enjoy, and see if this helps you get to sleep any better.

Another great way to unwind your mind and your body is to take a long, relaxing, hot shower; even if the morning is usually the time of day during which you shower, you might consider adding an extra shower at night, as this might be just the key you need in order to have an easier time falling asleep at night.

And a lot of people find that reading helps them to relax and unwind at night; of course, if you are truly an avid reader (and if the book you are reading is really good), reading might not at all have the effect you intended – as it might wake you up instead of helping you fall asleep – but some people find that reading helps them transition into sleep, and it is certainly worth testing this out for yourself to see if it works.

Keep these tips in mind if you have been having trouble sleeping – trying out different things until you find something that works great for you!

Easy Exercises To Strengthen Your Core

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
One of the main things that people want to focus on when they are working out is their core (actually, one of the main things they want to focus on is their abs, and their core comes with this!), as a strong core will not only help them to tackle other workouts, but will also give their body that nice effect they have been hoping to achieve - but while the core is one of the main things most people focus on, it is also one of the main things that tends to give people a lot of problems!

One thing to make sure you are aware of is the fact that your core muscles are probably much stronger than you realize, and you may just not be able to see them because of that belly fat you are working to get rid of, and one great way by which you can continue to keep your core strong while also helping your body lose that belly fat is by walking; when you walk, you not only strengthen your core and help yourself lose weight, but you also get your body working in such a way that it will continue burning fat on its own when you finish!

It is also possible for you to work out your core while you are just working at your desk or watching television, if you get an exercise ball; although these things might seem too good to be true, they actually do work, and all you have to do is sit upright while you do any other activity you would already have been doing!

And as you work to burn fat in other ways, one of the best ways to workout those core muscles you cannot yet see is to simply tighten up your abs; if you tighten (or "flex") your abs - from the top all the way down to the bottom - for about 15 to 20 seconds on a consistent basis (something you can do while driving, while working, while walking, and during just about anything else), you will soon realize how great of a workout this gives your core - and in time, you will also be able to see the results!

You absolutely do not need to go out and spend four thousand dollars on a machine to help you workout your core; keep these tips in mind, and you will be on your way to the abs (and the core!) you want to have.

An Introduction to Yoga

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
Long ago in India, Hinduism and Buddhism had a physical practice of well-being and spiritual commitment called yoga.  Today, two types of this traditional practice exist that have been tailored to fit the modern world.

Ashtanga and Anusara are modern yoga.

Ashtanga

The western wold was brought Ashtanga yoga by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915 – 2009).

The purpose of Ashtanga is to create sweat that purifies the body, which is provided by internal heat.

This practice of yoga utilizes breathing exercises along with a series of poses to provide bodily strength and peace of mind.

The meaning of Ashtanga is “eight-limbed yoga”.

These “limbs” are principles set forth in the Yoga Sutras. The eight limbs are: moral-codes, self-purification and study, posture, breath control, sense control, concentration, meditation, and absorption into the universe.

Ashtanga's goal is to accomplish all of these principles.

Anusara

Anusara is a new form of yoga – it began in 1997 by a man named John Friend.

Aligning with the Divine,” was Friend's purpose, according to the official Anusara website.

When many people consider yoga, they thing of people chanting “Om”; this is Anusara.

Empowerment of the individual and a meditative state are two things that create Divine alignment.

Yoga for you

The decision between Ashtanga and Anusara can be challenging, but consideration of your personal philosophies in contrast to the two practices is important.

If you are a more structured person who enjoys athletics, then Ashtanga is for you.

It provides an intense workout and also gives a very straightforward way to be a good person.

Anusara is more suitable for those who are a little looser with their philosophies.

The goal is different than in Ashtanga, but the workout is very similar.

Self-fulfillment and recognizing goodness in the world is also an important part of Anusara.

Your Divine alignment will come from through this goodness.

Either way you decide to practice yoga, you'll need a Yoga Mat!

Playing Disc Golf

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
Playing disc golf is one of the most fun ways to get outside on a nice day and enjoy the outdoors. Disc golf is an inexpensive and relaxing sport that can be played alone or in groups, and most cities have a number of courses to choose from.

As disc golf is played in a manner quite similar to regular golf, it is really very easy to grasp the basics of the game. A disc golf course is made up of 18 "holes," and based on the difficulty of each particular hole, a "par" is assigned. You begin a hole by throwing a frisbee down a fairway, and you finish a hole by trying to toss your frisbee into the receptacle at the end. As in regular golf, you will mark how many over or under par you are on each hole, keeping track of this throughout the whole course.

When it comes to disc golf, one of the great things is that - even though you might not become a master of the sport for a while - you can become adequate at disc golf really quickly. Another great thing, when it comes to disc golf, is the fact that the initial investment is not much, and you can usually play for free.

You might have gone to a park before where disc golf is played and seen someone with a huge bag that is overflowing with all different sorts of frisbees. If you become a serious enthusiast, you may want to pick up a couple extra frisbees, but when you are starting out, there is no need to have more than just a few! When you first get started with disc golf, the main thing you will need is a "driver," a mid-range frisbee, and a "putter." The driver is a light, aerodynamic frisbee that is intended to fly a long way down the fairway; the mid-range frisbee will make it easy for you to make your "approach" shots; and the putter is heavier, and will help you finish off a hole.

After you have purchased this simple, basic equipment, you will be able to grab a water bottle and hit the disc golf course; in no time at all, you will be a pretty decent player, and will be able to enjoy your time outdoors.

Why Owning a Dog Can Make You Healthier

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
image

Have you been considering buying a dog? You may be surprised to learn that dog ownership can provide many health benefits.

If you own a dog, you'll be more likely to exercise. Your dog will beg you for walks, which will help you get outside more. The fact that your dog will love the walks so much will help you look forward to this form of exercise, too. A dog will help you exercise on days when you might have put it off, because the responsibility to your pet will motivate you. There are actually many ways to get exercise with your dog. Try playing fetch with your dog or teaching him tricks, like how to catch a frisbee. All of these outside activities with your dog will get you moving, and that's the key to healthy living.

Owning a dog will help your blood pressure. Studies show that petting a dog actually lowers your blood pressure. The next time your dog wants a scratch behind the ears, settle in for a long rub down, realizing you are benefitting from the experience as much as he is.

Dog ownership makes it easier to meet people. Your little canine buddy will open you up for conversations even in impersonal situations and cities. Take your dog to a doggie park and meet other dog owners, or bring your dog with you when you shop at the pet store, and meet other dog owners there. It's important to have positive interactions with other people, and your dog can bring those interactions to you.

It's been determined that dog ownership helps with emotional strength and resilience. Doctors have studied this and discovered that your dog's love and zeal will help you deal with disappointment, loneliness, and stress with more emotional strength. In fact, dog owners tend to live longer than those who don't own pets. Dogs are especially good for those who struggle with emotional health issues or the blues.

Want to live your healthiest life possible? Consider visiting a pet shelter today.

The Best Dandruff Shampoo

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
You might think that it is not glamorous to use a shampoo that is designed to relieve you of dandruff, but it is even less glamorous to have dandruff on your clothes! And in any case, dandruff does not say anything about a person's personal hygiene, and it is even very common. Dandruff will stick around if you do not fight it, so here are some of the best shampoos available for engaging in battle! And also, remember that you should change up the shampoo you are using every once in a while, so even if you have been happy with the results of the dandruff shampoo you have been using, it never hurts to switch.

The most well-known dandruff shampoo - and also the most effective for many people - is Head & Shoulders. One problem with Head & Shoulders, however, is that many who deal with serious dandruff problems find that Head & Shoulders is not strong enough for them. If you have been engaged in an ongoing, failing battle with dandruff, you may want to search for something stronger. While Head & Shoulders sells all different types of shampoos in addition to their dandruff shampoo, there are brands such as Selsun Blue that focus solely on dandruff.

You can use this shampoo feeling confident that it will work, as Selsun Blue is among the leaders in research and development when it comes to dandruff.

Another shampoo that works really well, even if it is a bit pricier, is Nizoral, which has a patented ingredient that is designed to battle flakes. Nizoral also focuses their entire operation upon dandruff, and in order to be effective, it only needs to be used twice each week. This means that you can still keep your scalp from getting used to the shampoo you are using, as you can mix in something different on the other days.

As is the case with anything that requires special treatment, it might take you a little while to find the right dandruff shampoo for you. But there are plenty of options to choose from, and in time, you will be able to find the option that helps you clear up flakes for good.

Finding Simple Ways To Keep Yourself Awake During The Day

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
Some people have no real problem staying awake during the day, as they can simply crack open an energy drink or pour a cup of coffee on those days when they get really tired, and this will keep them awake; there are other people, however, who prefer not to drink coffee or energy drinks, and there are also other people who drink coffee and energy drinks so often that these no longer keep them awake! If you fall into any sort of category of people who "sometimes have a hard time staying awake" during the day, it will help you to have an idea as to some of the less conventional, more natural things you can do in order to keep yourself from getting sleepy during the day.

Streatching: One of the things that will make you feel tired if you work at a desk for a living is the fact that you are sitting perfectly still, staring at a computer, for the majority of the day; you do not need to carve a portion of your day out as "exercise time" in order to get the blood flowing - simply getting up and stretching a few times throughout the day will get your blood flowing and wake up your body.

Breathing exercises: Of course, "breathing" is something you do without even thinking about it in order to stay alive, but breathing exercises are something different; hold your body upright, and spend about five minutes taking deep inhalations through your nose and exhaling through your mouth, as this will go a long way in making you feel more awake.

Sunlight: In spite of the fact that the vitamin D from sunlight is beneficial to your body, sunlight can also cause your eyes to feel tired; if you are going to be spending time outdoors, or if you will be driving around when the sun is strong, keep sunglasses on your face, and your eyes will become a lot less tired!

Of course, if you find that you are tired all the time, there might be more wrong with you than these solutions will take care of, but if you simply find yourself feeling tired every once in a while, these solutions will go a long way in helping you feel better.

How To Drink Clean Water At Home

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
It is extremely important that you get enough water into your body each day, as continued hydration is a big part of continued health. But many people don't get near enough water every day, and a large part of the reason why they neglect to drink enough water is because of the way their water tastes. If your water does not taste satisfactory, chances are you will not convince yourself to drink one gallon (8 glasses) of water per day like you should. You can have clean, tasty water to drink at home if you follow these tips, and in this way you can watch as your water intake increases and your health improves!

Of course, one of the best (and most transportable!) ways to get clean, tasty water all the time is to buy bottled water. Bottled water can also be expensive, of course - especially if you try to buy it by the bottle! Your best bet, when it comes to bottled water, is to buy it in bulk; in this way, you can get a good deal, and you can take this water with you wherever you go.

If you want to have the taste of bottled water, but do not want to pay the price, consider getting a water bubbler and putting it in your home. The bottles that go with these are usually pretty inexpensive (as little as $5 or $10), and at such stores as Walmart you can find water for about $0.33 per gallon. Additionally, you can take this water with you everywhere - just like bottled water - if you simply buy a reusable water bottle.

Of course, there is also the option of filtering your water at home, which can be done in a variety of ways. You can do this by making sure the filtration system in your refrigerator is working, but attaching a filter to your sink, or by buying a stand-alone water filter.

There is no "best option" out of all of these - just make sure you pick one that works for you, and stick with it! You will be able to actually drink as much water as your body requires once you do this, as you will have access to plenty of clean, delicious water right there in your home!

How to Evolve From a Walker to a Runner

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
image

If you have wished you could be a runner but have gotten overwhelmed everytime you tried to take it up, you will benefit from these painless methods of building up to running. Most wanna-be runners give up because they push too hard on the first few workouts, frustrating themselves. The least painful way to go from walking to running is to walk, then run, and then walk, and then run, slowly increasing how much you run versus walk. You won't become a runner overnight, but you'll work your way into running instead of giving up because it's too tough.

Build up to being a runner by using your stopwatch to guide you. This is the most cost effective way to ease your way into running. Always begin a running workout by walking so your muscles warm up. Once you feel limber, ease into a slow run and time yourself until you feel yourself breathing hard and feeling like it’s getting to be too much to enjoy. Note how long you were able to run before it became uncomfortable. Thirty seconds? Just slow to a walk, and using your timewatch, walk for twice the amount of time you ran comfortably. Keep timing yourself as you walk and run, making sure you walk double the time you spend running. Over time you'll want to reduce your walking time to equal your running time, then half of your running time, until you feel you can run and enjoy it without walking at all.

Use a heart rate monitor to become a runner. A heart rate monitor is one of the best tools for easing your way into running. Determine what your fat burning heart rate zone is, and then start out walking. Once you are warm, run until you are well into your fat burning zone. When your heart rate monitor reports that you have hit the top of your fat burning zone, change your pace to a walk until your heart rate drops to the lower end of your fat burning zone. Run again until your heart peaks near the top of your fat burning zone, at which point you should walk again. After several workouts like this, you'll discover you can run the entire time, but still be in your fat burning zone.

These two methods take time, but they work.

Need Motivation to Take Up Biking?

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
image

Have you thought about how much you enjoyed biking back when you were a kid, but have been too intimidated to get back on the proverbial bicycle? Check out these reasons to hop on your bike.

Biking is a simple sport to take up, even if you haven't done it for years. It doesn’t matter what your fitness level is. Once you remember how to maintain your balance on the bike, you'll be on the road again. Feel free to go at whatever pace you feel comfortable, slowly working your way up as you get more comfortable.

Biking is a great calorie-burner. Let’s say you weigh 150 pounds and want to exercise for thirty minutes a day. Thirty minutes of moderate biking will burn 264 calories. If you swim at a moderate pace for thirty minutes, you'll burn about 200 calories. A half hour walk will only burn 132 calories. Hop on that bike and pedal hard for a calorie burning session.

It's easy to find places to bike. Biking can be done both in and outside, at any fitness center or at home. Most hotels have stationary bikes in their workout rooms, and most vacation areas have bike rental shops on hand. There’s no excuse not to bike.

Biking gets you somewhere. Use your bike to get places; this way you can exercise and accomplish something at the same time. This is fabulous for the environment and for your body--all at once! Be sure to take safety precautions and wear a helmet and reflective gear, and to equip your bike with a rear view mirror and a sturdy lock.

Biking is easy on the joints. If you've twisted an ankle or ruined your knees with running on hard pavement, you will discover how gentle biking is. Biking provides a hard workout that will burn calories and work your heart and lungs without wearing out your joints.

Tune up your bike, get the latest gear, and set out for a good long bike ride. If you need companionship, join a biking club, which will give you opportunities to go on long rides in the safety of a group. Try spin classes at the gym for a challenge, and enjoy the breeze as you coast into fitness.

Staying In Shape Easily

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
The idea that it is extremely difficult to stay in shape - or that staying in shape would be easy, if only they had more time on their hands - is one of the most common misconceptions people tend to deal with, but the truth is, it is actually quite easy to keep yourself in pretty good shape, and you can do so without investing great gobs of time; if you have been looking for ways to stay in shape within your busy schedule, here are a few things for you to keep in mind.

One of the best ways for you to stay in shape - even though it seems as though it would be far too easy to really be effective - is to simply take the time to walk each day; the best way to walk is to head out for about thirty minutes during your lunch break, as this will help you to get the vitamin D that will be so beneficial to your body, but even if you do not have the time for this, make an effort to take the stairs over the elevator, or to walk to the store sometimes rather than driving!
Finding a hobby you enjoy that will also keep you active is another great way to keep yourself in shape; a lot of people pass their free time doing a whole lot of nothing, but when you find an activity you enjoy, you will be able to feel rewarded with your free time while also keeping your body in shape.

And even if you were working out all the time, you would really have a hard time staying in shape if you were not eating healthy - and this is the truth to an even greater extent if you rarely have a chance to work out - so make sure you are giving your body the right foods, as this will keep your body looking the way you want it to look.
As you pay attention to these things, you will have no problem keeping your body in the shape you want it to be in, and you will feel healthier and happier as a result!

Five Healthy Easter Holiday Suggestions

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
image

Are you dreading the Easter baskets full of jelly beans and the huge dinner? If you or your family members are overweight, consider making a change that will give everyone a chance at being more healthy. Instead of lecturing your family, make changes that won't feel drastic but will help get you all moving in the right direction.

Replace most of the candy in the baskets with gifts. Pile the baskets high with things that are fun but useful, such as sandals, sunglasses, bubbles, goggles, bug-catching toys, decks of cards, and jump ropes. Use this opportunity to interest the kids in leisure activities that are creative or active; anything other than watching TV.

Choose candy carefully. Instead of eliminating candy altogether from the basket, place a few really good pieces of something indulgent, like a couple truffles from a chocolate shop or some Jelly Belly jelly beans. Don't let the kids down the candy all at once; have them guess at jelly bean flavors and tell you about the inside of the special chocololates, teaching them to savor treats.

Serve a low-cal menu. Serve a lean ham, topped with slices of pineapple secured with cloves. Identify and remove from the menu the least healthy of the traditional Easter menu items such as twice-baked potatoes, dinner rolls, and that high-fat, high-calorie green bean casserole dish. Instead serve a green salad, sliced fresh pineapple, and baked potatoes, halved. Don't serve something dastardly for dessert like cheesecake, but instead serve something like berries with whipped cream.

Plan an active agenda for the holiday. Do a traditional egg hunt either outside or in your house. Plan a family walk either to a park or to a pleasant location. Set up an obstacle course for rambunctious kids or a game of hide and seek indoors if you encounter inclement weather.

Buy an egg dyeing kit. Eggs are good sources of protein, so they fill you up. Coloring eggs will stimulate creativity.

By setting this example, you may set new healthier traditions in motion.

Tips For Keeping Your Body Active

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
One thing you will want to look to do as you try to remain healthy is to keep your body active, as this will go a long way in making sure that you are in good shape and that you are able to ward off sickness; of course, most people think of "exercise" when they think of keeping their body active, but this is not the only way by which you can go about making sure you stay healthy by staying active.

Now, exercise certainly is one of the approaches you can take to keeping yourself active, but one thing you will want to do is make sure you understand the right ways to work out and the wrong ways to work out; a lot of people tend to think that "more is better" when it comes to working out, bur realize that you can actually work out too much - which will fatigue your body, and will give you cravings for foods you do not want to be putting inside your body - and it is often better to do light workouts (or even just to do nothing more than stretch on some days!) than to push yourself too hard.

Finding an outdoor hobby that you enjoy, and engaging in it regularly, is another great way to stay active outside of the rigors of "exercise"; this can be as simple as playing golf or even disc golf, or can be something more strenuous such as rock climbing or mountain biking - as long as you are getting outside, moving around, and giving your body some fresh air and sunlight, you will reap the benefits that come along with whatever this activity is.

And of course, you should make sure you do not allow yourself to get into the habit of making your "activity" too regimented, as your body does not operate on a weekly or daily schedule, and neither should you when it comes to taking care of your body. Instead of setting aside certain times of the day during which you try to do your workouts, get in the habit of moving around frequently at a slow pace (which can be as simple as walking!), and this will go a long way in keeping your body active, and in helping your body to be as healthy as you want it to be.

Advice For Colon Cleanse Newbies

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
Have you thought about using a colon cleanse as part of your detox effort? You can choose from a variety of types of colon cleanse to find the one that works best for you. But should you try a colon cleanse, and if so, what kind should you try?

Colon cleanses have become stable pieces in the detox end of health regimens because they rid your body of excess waste, resulting in a slimmer waistline, more energy, and a sense of starting fresh. Most Americans eat lousy diets, resulting in bloating, constipation, and the storage of extra crap - literarlly. After you've cleaned out your system with a colon cleanse, you can focus on makng daily choices that won't back you up again.

The following is information about the three most common kinds of colon cleanses. You can choose whichever type sounds best to you.

High colonics are probably the scariest for most newbies, as they involve high pressure water. However, high colonics are conducted by professionals, so you can relax, knowing the process will be over quickly and safely.

Natural colon cleanses are induced by eating or drinking or specific foods and beverages to promote efficient and thorough bowel movements. Look online for dietary colon cleanse recipes; you'll find more than prunes and prune juice, although these classics are indeed very effective.

Another option is to follow a plan that uses an over-the-counter colon cleanse product; these come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. They can come in the form of powders, beverages, capsules, medications, or teas, and work to stimulate bowel movements.

If this is your first colon cleanse, you'll want to try something that promises to be gentle. Plan your colon cleanse such that you'll have time to use the bathroom, and make sure you use the lowest dosage of the prescribed plan, slowly increasing how much you use until you get the intended effect. Make sure you can handle the product or diet plan before you take more.

How to Ramp Up The Web Presence Of Your Business

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
You used to be able to run a good business by simply producing a good product and treating your customers with respect, but nowadays - with the Internet being what it is - there is a lot more to running a successful business, and while you might be nostalgic about the "good old days," the truth of the matter is that you need to understand how to adapt to the changes brought on by the Internet if you want to continue to experience the success you hope to experience.

In order to take advantage of all the Internet has to offer, the first thing you need to do is understand how to optimize your website for search engines; when you learn how to target certain keywords, use meta tags to your advantage, and gather backlinks, you will be able to watch your rankings in the search engines climb, and this will bring new visitors your way as they come across your page through the searches they put into these search engines.

Of course, ramping up the web presence of your business is not all about the impersonal things you do to boost your search engine rankings - you will also want to do what you can to build interaction and relationships with your customers; you can do this through such social media sites as Twitter and facebook, giving your customers direct access to you and all the thoughts that make their way through your head!

And not only will you want to use search engine optimization to rise in search engine rankings and use social media to connect with your customers, but you should also try to build relationships with other businesses; this can be a difficult jump to make, as you will often be used to thinking about other businesses as competition, but when you join forces with another business, the two of you can work to grow your businesses through one another!

As you focus on ramping up the web presence of your business more and more, the more success you will have - and the more success you have, the more you will be able to continue competing in the ever-changing business landscape!

How To Stay Healthy In Cold Weather

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
When the weather is cold, people are much more susceptible to sickness, but while this is going to be the case no matter what you do to take measures against it, there are still a number of things you can do to keep yourself healthy when the weather turns cold - after all, unlike spring and summer (when airborne allergens can make you sick, and there is little you can do!), the cold is fairly easy to protect against.

One thing that you need to understand is that keeping heat in your body will be important for keeping yourself healthy when the weather is cold, and more heat escapes your body through your head than through any other part of you; in addition to keeping your head covered in the cold, you will also want to keep your extremities (fingers and feet) warm, and will want to keep your chest covered with layers.

One thing that might seem minor on the surface, but that can actually make a big difference, is scraping frost off your car in the morning, and then driving into work in a cold car; instead of doing this, go outside about 15 minutes early and turn your car (and the defroster) on, so that your car will be warm, and your windshield will be cleared, by the time you get out there - realizing that the small amount of extra money you will spend in gas will be worth it for keeping you healthy!

And finally, you should understand that it is vital to keep your body clean if you want to stay healthy, and because it can be so cold to prepare for a shower when it is cold in your house (and because you may not be sweating as much when it is cold), it is easy to push showers off for a day or two; make sure you are still showering daily, however, in order to stay healthy!

When you keep these tips in mind (and when you make sure your children are following these tips as well!), you will be able to keep a healthy family all throughout the winter.

Easy Ways To Get Your Protein

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
Giving your body the proper amount of protein will be one of the most important things for keeping yourself healthy, as protein will both keep your muscles strong and will give you the energy you need to make it through the day; one problem a lot of people face, however, is that they do not know exactly what they can do in order to get those 50 grams of protein (at minimum!) that their body requires each day, and because of this, they fail to get their protein.

Getting in the habit of having a smoothie at the start of each day is one of the easiest ways to get your protein; when you make a smoothie that has a base of milk, combined with a number of fruits and berries, you will get a little bit of protein from the milk and will get a lot of the vitamins and nutrients you need from the fruits and berries - and then, by adding a bit of protein powder to the smoothie (and by perhaps even adding a scoop of peanut butter!), you will be able to get a full compliment of protein to go along with all the other nutrients you are getting from this smoothie.

It is not all that difficult to get protein throughout the day, either - as long as you know where you can get this protein - as there are lots of things you can carry around with you throughout the day to get this protein; get in the habit of snacking on nuts and seeds during the day, or munching on protein bars when you need a snack, and make sure you get a bit of protein during lunch (which you can easily get from a sandwich or from a salad with meat!), and you will be able to keep up your energy all throughout the day.

And when you hit dinner, one of the best (and healthiest!) ways to get your protein is by eating fish; of course, you will probably not want to have fish for dinner every night, but make this a regular part of your dinner menu, and you will notice a marked improvement in your health.

As you learn more about the things that are required for you to keep your body healthy, it will become easier for you to take care of your body - and in the long run, this will pay off in big ways!

How To Have A Relaxing Day By Waking Up Earlier

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
One of the hardest parts of the day for a lot of people is “waking up on time,” and because of this, they end up hitting the snooze until the last possible minute (or even until a couple minutes after “the last possible minute”!), and end up having to rush through the morning to be ready for work; as counterintuitive as it sounds, however, one of the best ways to set yourself up for a great, relaxing day is to wake up earlier than you need to!

One of the first things you should plan to do, when you wake up earlier than you need to, is take a slightly longer shower than you need to; when you do this, you will be able to allow the hot water to both wake up your body and relax your body – which, of course, will put you in great position for the rest of your day.

In addition to taking a longer shower, you should also consider doing something to get your blood flowing in the morning; this does not mean you should necessarily do a heavy workout (which, quite frankly, is not the best way to start a day), but rather, it means you should do something such as yoga, or should go for a walk, to slowly ease your body into the day.

And of course, most of us have heard it said before that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but many of us end up eating breakfast on the go, or end up missing breakfast altogether; when you wake up a bit earlier, however, you will be able to sit down to enjoy some breakfast or coffee in a relaxed manner – perhaps with a newspaper in hand (rather than with the strident sounds of the television or radio).

Early on, it will not always be easy to wake up before the time when you “absolutely need to,” but once you begin forcing yourself to do this a few times, the extra level of relaxation you will head into your day with will quickly make it a whole lot easier for you to wake up this extra bit early!

Stopping Yourself When You Start To Get Stressed

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
One of the main things that can derail an otherwise good day is stress, as stress can immediately pull you from a good mood to a bad mood, and can not only affect the way you perceive the rest of the day, but can even affect how the rest of the day goes; of course, if stopping yourself from getting stressed was as easy as pie, no one would have any problems with stress in the first place – but while stopping yourself from getting stressed is not exactly simple, it is also not exactly difficult!

Learning to identify stress early on is the first step to stopping yourself when you start to get stressed; while many people are able to identify this stress early on, they make the mistake of “trying not to be stressed,” but instead of trying not to be stressed, you should instead give yourself something that you can try to be – trying instead to be relaxed, as this will lead you in the opposite direction of stress.

Of course, sometimes you will be unable to identify the stress early enough to stop it, so if you are in a place where stress is taking hold, realize that you may simply need to “start over”; take a break from whatever it is you are doing, and make an effort to reset your mind, as this is often the best way to get rid of stress and start back from square one.

And perhaps the biggest key of all to stopping stress is to examine what caused you to get stressed in the first place, figuring out exactly what the trigger was; once you begin to identify the things that cause you to be stressed, you will be better equipped to combat the stress next time it tries to come your way.

It can take a lot of time to learn to stop stress from taking hold of you, but when you apply these tips, you will be much better equipped to conquer this problem, and over time, you will be able to chase stress away – replacing it with relaxation, and continuing to move forward in life rather than being bogged down!

How To Prepare A Delicious Primal Breakfast

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
A lot of people have come to realize the tremendous health benefits of going with Mark Sisson's Primal Blueprint, as they are able to work out a lot less often than they had to before, are able to eat plenty of food (and plenty of different foods!), and are able to lose fat more quickly than they could have imagined possible - but one problem a lot of people face with the Primal Blueprint is that they do not quite know what to make for their breakfast, as most people are used to eating carbs and processed grains (hashed browns, bagels, toast, cereal, et cetera) at the start of each day!

One great thing about eating on the Primal Blueprint is that you can eat eggs, and eggs are not only delicious for breakfast, but they are easy to prepare as well; before you go to bed at night, cut up some vegetables (such as peppers and onions) and get a bit of meat ready, and in the morning you will be ready to toss the veggies and meat in a pan, and to scramble these in with two or three eggs.

If you are not real big on eggs, another great idea is to start out your day with a smoothie; you can make something as simple as a smoothie with orange juice, a fresh banana, and some frozen strawberries, and this will give you a delicious drink to begin your day - and if you want to add some protein to the mix, you can also throw in some whey protein, which will be great for your body as well!

And if you are grabbing breakfast on the run, there is nothing easier than doing this according to the Primal Blueprint; grab an apple, or grab some dried fruit, some seeds, some nuts, or some berries (all of which you can find in one package if you buy some good trail mix!), and you will have the full stomach and the energy you need to take on the day!

Once you get the hang of it, eating according to the Primal Blueprint is easy - and these ideas for breakfast will help you on your way to figuring out exactly what you can eat!

Five Simple Tips For Keeping Your Weight Under Control

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
People seem to try all sorts of different diets. One of the reasons why people have tried so many different diets is because they haven't found one that works! After all, if just one diet plan existed that truly worked wonders, there would not be any others, right?

Not exactly. A lot of these diet plans fail for certain people specifically because they have a hard time staying committed to the plan they have chosen. And quite frankly, they are having a hard time because it is just plain difficult to fit a diet into a daily routine. Perhaps you want to eat healthy, perhaps you want to live a healthy lifestyle, but perhaps your schedule does not make this easy. If you find yourself in this position, follow these five tips to keep your weight under control.

1) Always eat breakfast: You have probably heard them say that "breakfast is the most important meal of the day," but you might not realize that they say this for a reason. Breakfast kicks off your metabolism early in the morning. Even something simple like fruit or yogurt can make a big difference when you have it for breakfast.

2) Work your exercise in somewhere: Many times, people avoid exercise altogether because they "don't have time." But there are plenty of times throughout the day that are good for exercise - do three minutes of pushups and sit-ups before you shower in the morning and before bed; take the stairs at work; go for a walk on a nice day; exercise when you can.

Change your eating habits: A lot of people eat fast food for half their meals, and their excuse is, "I don't have time to make healthy meals." But actually, a lot of fast food places allow you to swap out fries for a salad! Small changes in your eating will yield big results.

4) Add fruits and vegetables: Instead of buying fast food, start going with fruits and vegetables; you can save a lot of money. And also, you can easily bring these foods with you to work, or to school, or in the subway. You will start to see a difference if you keep fruit around.

5) Add some supplements: A lot of different supplements provide you with the vitamins and minerals you need for the day. By taking these supplements, you will find that your body feels a lot more healthy.

It might seem difficult to keep your body healthy and your weight under control, but it becomes a lot easier when you break it down into these smaller pieces.

The Importance of Recognizing the Signs of a Heart Attack

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
By learning to recognize the symptoms of a heart attack you could save your life or the life of someone else. Someone who has or is suffering a heart attack must get medical attention as soon as possible to minimize the damage done to their systems.

People often only think of a heart attack in terms of what is portrayed on television. Although the chest gripping pain can come on suddenly, intensely, and quickly it is not always the case. Clearly if someone exhibits these symptoms you will need to contact 911 immediately. But what if the symptoms are a bit different then this would you know what to do?

Can pain that comes and goes be a sign of a heart attack? A heart attack can sometimes exhibit itself this way also. Some people experience pain that comes and goes.  The feeling is sometimes very intense in the center of the chest. The pain may be exhibited in other parts of the body such as the neck, arms, and jaw.  Other symptoms may include shortness of breath, and nausea. If the person is short of breath and is cold and clammy they may also be suffering from a heart attack.

Would you know what to do if someone had a heart attack? First and foremost call 911 immediately. Find out what medications the person may be taking and write them down.  Ask if they are taking nitroglycerine. Providing an asprin can be helpful as it helps to thin the blood out. The person should chew it to help it absorb into their blood stream faster.

If the person becomes unconscious and stops breathing, be prepared to do CPR. It is always good to know basic first aid and CPR just for this reason. Quick thinking and knowledge can save your or someone else’s life some day. Saving a life makes knowing the symptoms of a heart attack very important.  You never know when one may strike.

The Best Fruits To Eat When Trying To Lose Weight

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
A lot of people naturally tie "eating healthy" together with "losing weight," but one thing they often fail to realize (or, at least, that they are shocked when they do realize it!) is the fact that fruits are high in both carbohydrates and sugars - and of course, carbs and fruits are two of the main things you will want to avoid if you are trying to lose weight; because of this, it is helpful for you to make sure you know which fruits are still good to eat if you are wanting to lose weight, and which fruits you should try to avoid.

For the most part, the more sweet a fruit is, the more sugar it will be carrying inside it (and the worse it is for you if you are trying to lose weight); this means that even as delicious as fruits such as pineapple, watermelon, cantaloupe, and mangos are - along with most other "tropical" fruits - they will be best left alone if "losing weight" is your primary goal.

The second category of fruits are the ones that are not exactly "great" for helping you lose weight, but are also not bad; these fruits include such favorites as apples, oranges, and cherries - but you should also realize that drinking the juice of these fruits is not the same as eating these fruits, and that the juice of these fruits will have a lot more carbs and sugars in them!

And in the final category, you will find the fruits that will not be a problem at all for you if you are trying to lose weight: berries pretty much dominate this category, as everything from blueberries to blackberries to raspberries to cranberries will be excellent fruits to focus on in your efforts to lose weight.

Of course, if you are trying to lose weight, you should not think too hard about what fruits you are eating - after all, if you are even at the point of asking which fruits are best, you have gone far beyond where most people who are trying to lose weight have gone - so simply use these tips as a guideline, and remember that really, fruit is great for you no matter what!

Is There A Right Time Of Day For Me To Drink My Coffee?

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
People consume coffee for all sorts of different reasons - some because they simply like the taste, some because they find it to be relaxing, and some because it is simply a great way to get together with friends - but regardless of the stated reason for one's coffee consumption, coffee drinking still comes down to "staying awake" for most people. Because coffee is consumed in order to keep people awake (or - even for those who do not drink coffee to stay awake - it still has this effect), it is useful to know when is the best time of day for drinking coffee.

First off, a lot of people claim that "coffee has no effect" on them, and so they will drink it shortly before bed; if this is the case for you, however, you should realize that coffee still has an effect on your body, even if you are able to fall asleep after drinking it. While you might go to sleep thinking that you are sleeping just fine throughout the night, chances are, the caffeine is preventing your body throughout the night from getting the rest that it truly needs.

A lot of people also drink coffee first thing in the morning, in order to "help them wake up," but when you drink coffee first thing in the morning, you put your body in a position where it becomes unable to wake up fully without coffee, which handicaps you for the rest of the day.

The best approach for coffee drinking is to drink it right around the middle of the day; even though this might leave you feeling more tired in the morning (that is, until your body gets used to this new routine), your body will be able to wake itself up. And with this midday cup of coffee, you will have a nice energy boost - something that will help to carry you through the afternoon, and that will wear off at night, just in time for you to go to sleep for the night!

Tips For Better Freestyle Swim Workouts

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
image

If you’re a swimmer and want to get the best times and the best workouts, you’ll want to try these swim workout tips.

For an all-body workout that will improve your times, do more than just the freestyle stroke during your workout. You'll benefit from doing some breaststroke, a lot of freestyle, some kickboarding, and using a few props.

Start out practicing freestyle, reaching as far forward as possible with each stroke, gliding for a few seconds before pulling down through the stroke. Make every stroke count, engaging your muscles as you pull through the stroke, pushing the water behind you, not to the sides. Make sure your kicks are strong and coming from the hip, and that your knees are only slightly bent. Try to glide across the top of the water, not thrash at the water. Remind yourself that strong, smooth strokes will win the race.

Use paddles to add resistance and build muscles, trying to get across the pool with as few breaths as possible. Then take off the paddles and swim a couple laps with your hands balled up. When you resume your regular freestyle, you'll notice the difference. You'll be so delighted by how powerful your hands feel that you'll stroke harder and be faster.

When you’ve worn out your shoulders (always be careful to avoid injury), make sure to invest some time using the kickboard. Rest your upper body (it may feel good to stretch your arms out over the board) and kick, propelling yourself forward with long, deep, straight-legged kicks. Extend each kick deep into the water, challenging yourself to use all the muscles you can. Kickboard until you feel the burn. Then switch to the breaststroke kick, still resting your upper body on the board, working your inner and outer leg muscles.

Finish off with a few more laps of freestyle, using your body only, with no props. Feel the strokes in every muscle as you work to perfect your stroke.

Tips For Replacing Butter In Your Diet

Expert demonstrates how you can loose weight fast with some, simple yet powerful nutrition strategies!
Most people are fully aware that butter is not a good thing to put into their bodies, but they cannot get away from it nonetheless! Oftentimes, food tastes a lot better with butter on it, and it can be difficult to make the switch - especially if you grew up with butter. After all, despite margarine's best efforts to be a butter substitute, it does not taste the same; so what should a butter lover do? Quite frankly, getting away from butter is not an easy task; if you are determined to do so, however, here are a few simple things you can try for replacing butter in your diet.

Lots of people use butter when cooking on the stove, no matter if they are making eggs, hashed browns, or a grilled cheese sandwich. You can eat much healthier, however - and still make food that tastes great - if you start using olive oil instead of butter when you cook on the stove. Food has a different taste cooked in olive oil than it does cooked in butter, but once you become familiar with this taste, you may even find that you like it more.

image

Toasted breads - including bagels and English muffins - is another area where a lot of people have a difficult time switching from butter to something else. If you have ever tried toast with butter and jam (and chances are you have!), try this next time, but skip over the butter and make it with only the jam! If you enjoy bagels and English muffins, you can try these with jam as well, and you can also try them with a thin layer of peanut butter.

Many people enjoy using butter as a dipping sauce for bread and seafood; you can replace this with olive oil and spices. With this, you will get a rich, full flavor very similar to the flavor of butter, and you will not be clogging your arteries in the process!

Check out Cooking For Isaiah - the best cookbook for Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free recipes!

In the end, it comes down to making a decision to stay away from butter if you truly want to stay away. But the transition will be made much easier if you follow these tips, helping you move into a healthier eating lifestyle.
